Volley Ball: Shilpa Verma

Shilpa Verma, 3rd year student of Pharmaceutical Engg. is volleying from the front with the girls Volleyball team in this SPARDHA. A state level volleyball player,she is highly dedicated and brimming with confidence this time. In her presence, the team has won 2 silver medals consecutively and this time, as a captain, she has got some highly lethal weapons in her Arsenal.With the mixture of young blood and experience,she is extremely confident of winning glory again and bring laurels to home.

Taekwondo: Mayank Singh

Mayank Singh, 4th year Mining Engg. student is our macho captain of Tae-kwon-do team in SPARDHA '10. He is exactly what the game demands, brave and courageous.A red-belt achiever, he is really looking forward to this SPARDHA as the sport is making entry after 6 years. He is really optimistic about his dedicated and hard-working team which has a perfect blend of juniors and seniors, and expecting to come up with flying colours in this SPARDHA and even at national level.

Message to IT-Junta : Tae-kwon-do as a club was a part of IT-BHU from 1995-2004. It has been restarted in 2009 and the team has registered 32 boys and 3 girls. Come out and watch each exciting shows of the IT team all over the year .

Atheletics : Prerna Meena

Leading the Athletics team this year is Prerna Meena, III year ceramic engg. student. Apart from winning medals in Spardha'09, She has also participated in Udghosh (IIT-K sports meet). In 2009 the team's overall position was good. The team boasts of experienced Prachi ,Surbhi,Madhu who have previously won medals in Spardha and BITS Pilani. The presence of talented 1st yearite, Antima has increased the team's odds of being successful. With loads of grilling practice to boast of, the girls are all fired up to excel.

Table Tennis : Swathi Kandimalla

This resilient 3rd year Electronics Engineering student is all set to weave magic with her raquet again this Spardha.A resident of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, She has won silver in spardha’08 , IT-open and gold and silver in all the games in the Electronics society events in the year 2008, 2009.The team had a decent outing at SPARDHA'08, pocketing a silver medal. Although the team was unlucky in Spardha'09, the team is determined to perform well this year as the team seems to have worked on the basics. Accompanied by Stuti Bajaj, the duo has been playing together for the past 2 yrs.The presence of freshers has increased the energy quotient of the team.

Kabaddi : Rajiv Kumar

The Skipper of Kabaddi team for Spardha'10 is Rajeev Kumar, 4th Year Electrical Engg Student. He hails from Azamgarh and in his presence the team has bagged Gold and silver medals. According to the captain, Jagdish Pratap Singh is the backbone of the team. The team is undergoing rigorous practice sessions and is quite confident of clinging onto medals this year.

Cricket : Kushagra Sinha

Kushagra Sinha a.k.a 'BALI' from fourth Mining will be leading IT-BHU cricket team this SPARDHA.Cricket is not just a game but a passion for him since his school days. In his presence the team has won gold medal for three consecutive years  and this time, being the captain, he is confident of winning every match convincingly. Our forseeing cricket captain  has also represented our team at various sports fests across the nation. The reason for team's consistent performance is the sincere practice throughout the year. All the players are fully dedicated towards the game. The players are the pillars of the team fort and everyone has a part to play.

Lawn Tennis : Himani Arora

The newly established Girls Lawn Tennis team is all geared up to set the court on fire with Himani Arora leading the charge. This lady from 3rd Metallurgy was reponsible for the Girls Team's maiden Silver last year at Spardha. She follows the saying "Variety is the spice of life" to the letter, representing the IT-BHU Girl's side in Basketball in Udghosh, IIT Kanpur and Cricket in the Inter-Faculty Tourney. She believes the team has further strenghtened its ranks with new blood and aims for the Gold this year. Helping her in this endeavour are Khushboo and Nancy.

Lawn Tennis: Pushpendra Singh

Leading the Lawn Tennis team this year is the 2 time IT Open winner, Pushpendra Singh from 3rd year Mining. He hails from Kota and has represented BHU two times in All India Inter University Meet in Gwalior '09 and Hissar '10. Pairing up with Khushboo, he won the Silver medal in the BITS sports meets in the Mixed Doubles category. This year, he has surrounded himself with rising stars like Arpit Beniwal, Saurabh Sharaha, Paras Afrol and Prasoon Dev. They have been honing their skills further and traning even harder to bring home the Gold yet again.

Basket Ball: Samanyu

The Basketball Team is lucky to have Samanyu as its captain at this meet. He is better known to all as Baba or Sam.....but he comes in his own element on the court. A 2nd Mechanical student, he has a Gold to his name in Spardha '09 and a Silver in the Inter - Faculty Baski Meet. His only wish is to continue the tradition that his seniors have set and win another Gold. In this quest, he is helped by trusted lieutenants : Rahul Singh and Aniket Kumar.

Chess: Shubham Gupta

The Chess Team is being captained this year by the 3rd year brainiac, Shubham Gupta. He is a resident of Jhansi and has been a state level player in the past. His list of laurels include a Gold and a Silver in Spardha '08 and '09 respectively. In his quest for the Lost Grail of Gold, he has the company of the Mind Knights Saurabh Verma and Himanshu Talreja.

Pramant Nagar, 3rd Year Mining Engg Student from Ghaziabad is the captain of Athletics' team for Spardha 10. He is a national level player & had won 4 medals( 3 Golds, 1 silver) in Spardha 08 & 3 medals (1 Gold, 2 Silver) in Spardha 09. Deshraj Meena(ex-captain), Pankaj singh rana, Rajendra & Sandeep are the players to watch for in his team. He is sure that the athletics team will perform well & will win lots of medals this year.

Squash: Apoorv Gupta

The responsibility for leading the Squash team for Spardha 10 will be held on the strong shoulders of 3rd Mechanical Engg. Student from Alwar, Apoorv Gupta. Apart from winning Gold in Spardha 09, silver in Spardha 08 & Bronze in BITS Pilani, he also holds the experience of playing Squash at the state level. He is sure that all his team members namely Ashutosh, jagrut arora, vikash gupta will do well and bring glory to IT-BHU. His team is training hard to put up their best performance.

Table Tennis: Niranjan Meena

3rd electronics student, Niranjan Meena is a small town boy from Devas, Madhya Pradesh and will be captaining the IT Table tennis team in Spardha 10. He has played TT at the national level in 2003 & has won Gold medals in both Spardha 07 & 08 and a silver in Spardha 09. The star players of his team are Varinder Singh & Abhinav Agarwal.The TT team was 2nd in Spardha 09, but it is practicing hard to better that performance this year.

Leading our Hockey Team is 3rd Chem Student, Jayant Prasad who belongs to Motihari, Bihar. His mates call him 'Sasha'. He has captained the team in BITS & IIT-Kanpur. He is relying on Arjun Sharma, Ashish singh, Raj kamal & Prabhjot to perform, so that the Team can once again acquire the Gold medal, just as it did in Spardha 08 & 09.

Football: Pramil Jain

Pramil Jain, a 3rd Year Ceramic Engg. student, better known as 'Robin' will be leading our Football Team in Spardha 10. He hails from Pink City 'Jaipur' & occupies the position of Centre Forward in the Team. He was the Hero of the very famous IT v/s FMS match, in which IT won by 4-0 & all the four goals were to his credit.The captain is banking on his star players Vihan Gupta, Deepak Kumar Singh, Baljit Vikas, Vivek Singh, C.B. Singh (bulu), Diwakar Bari and Aman Narang to deliver. The Team is training rigorously to bring back Gold to IT-BHU.

Convener: Satyendra Nath Singh

When he was in the cricket team, the team had tasted nothing but GOLD at Spardha thanks to his wonderful bowling skills, and now he is all set to show his organizing & management skills. Vth year Mechanical student, Satyendra Nath Singh is the General Secretary of Games & Sports wing & the convenor of Spardha 10. He wants to take Spardha to new horizons & is leaving no stone unturned for the cause. He has incorporated some fresh creative ideas that will not only make Spardha bigger & better than before, but will redefine the way fests are organized in IT-BHU. His way of making Spardha better is by not getting bound in previous year prototypes(as generally done in IT), but to change everything for better.
